French Open 2016: Times, TV schedule, matches and live stream for Day 2 at Roland Garros

Day 2 of the French Open will feature Andy Murray and Stan Wawrinka ... as well as a bunch of players who were supposed to play on Day 1 but were faced with a rain delay.

Susan Mullane-USA TODAY Sports

Due to a pair of rain delays, most of the matches on the opening day of the 2016 French Open were postponed to Monday. Kei Nishikori and Garbine Muguruza, the top-seeded players in the men’s and women’s singles brackets playing on Day 1, both wound up having their matches delayed into the tournament’s second day.

Nishikori is in the third set against Simone Bolelli, leading at 6-1, 7-5, 2-1 when his match was postponed. Muguruza never got to start her match against unseeded opponent Anna Karolina Schmiedlova and will face her on Suzanne-Lenglen Court to start the day.

On the men’s side, the No. 2 and No. 3 seeds in the tournament, Andy Murray and Stan Wawrinka, will be in action. Murray is set to face the tough Radek Stepanek, who could be one of the tougher opening-round matchups for seeded opponents. Wawrinka, the defending champion at Roland Garros, will face Lukas Rosol, another tough opening-round match.

On the women’s side, No. 2 seed Agnieszka Radwanska will face Bojana Jovanovski. No. 6 seed Simona Halep also did not manage to play her match on Day 1, so she will face Nao Hibino on Monday.

Notably, Maria Sharapova and Roger Federer are not in the tournament, though for entirely different reasons. Federer is out with an injury, while Sharapova is serving a suspension for a positive drug test. Top seeds Novak Djokovic and Serena Williams have not taken the court yet and will not on Tuesday.

Television coverage of the day begins at 5 a.m. ET on the Tennis Channel. Their coverage will run through 3 p.m. Online streaming is available at NBC Sports Live Extra and the Tennis Channel.
