French Open 2016 schedule: Match times, TV coverage and live stream for Tuesday

Novak Djokovic, Rafael Nadal, Andy Murray and Serena Williams will all be in first-round action on Tuesday.

Susan Mullane-USA TODAY Sports

The 2016 French Open probably won’t catch up with its postponed matches for another day or so, as several matches both upcoming and in progress on Monday were suspended until Tuesday due to bad light as the day progressed. That had a lot to do with the fact that rain delayed several matches from the opening day on Sunday.

As such, we’ve got a full slate of matches set for Tuesday, including the first appearance of the top seeds in both brackets. Novak Djokovic is set to take on unseeded Yen-Hsun Lu as the top seed on the men’s side. Djokovic bested Rafael Nadal in the quarterfinals at Roland Garros last year, and many felt he was unstoppable and on his way to his first ever French Open title. But he wound up losing to Stan Wawrinka in the finals and is still searching for an evasive title on this clay.

Wawrinka also managed to win his first-round matchup on Monday, though he was pushed to five sets against Lukas Rosol. Nadal will also be in action on Tuesday, taking on Sam Groth, and is only behind Djokovic when it comes to favorites to win.

The top seed for the women and perennial favorite, Serena Williams, will be taking on Magdalena Rybarikova in her opening-round matchup. Williams did not win the Australian Open earlier this year, but she is the defending champion at Roland Garros and should have this one in the bag.

Andy Murray will be finishing his Monday match against Radek Stepanek, currently trailing two sets to one and in the fourth set. Jo-Wilfried Tsonga and Tomas Berdych are other top men in action, along with Angelique Kerber and Victoria Azarenka for the women.

Television coverage of the day begins at 5 a.m. ET on the Tennis Channel. Their coverage will run through 3 p.m. Online streaming is available at NBC Sports Live Extra and the Tennis Channel.

Below are all of Tuesday's matchups containing seeded players, with a full schedule available here.
