The Round of 16 at the 2016 French Open got underway on Sunday, but not all of the big singles matches on the day were completed. There were multiple rain delays that ultimately postponed two of the four women’s singles matches on the day.

No. 2 seed Agnieszka Radwanska -- the best hope of beating Serena Williams for the title this year -- led unseeded Tsvetana Pironkova, 6-2, 3-0 when her match was postponed to Monday. No. 6 seed Simona Halep led No. 21 Samantha Stosur, 5-3 before her match was postponed as well. The other two women’s matches did go to completion -- No. 4 Garbine Muguruza bested No. 13 Svetlana Kuznetsova, 6-3, 6-4 and unseeded Shelby Rogers continued her impressive run by downing No. 25 Irina-Camelia Begu, 6-3, 6-4.

On the men’s side, No. 2 Andy Murray managed to prevent John Isner, the 15th seed, from pushing him to the limit like he’s known for, beating Isner in straight sets, 7-6(9), 6-4, 6-3. The defending champion and third seed, Stan Wawrinka, took down Viktor Troicki in four sets, 7-6(5), 6-7(7), 6-3, 6-2 while the latter had some injury issues throughout the match.

The other two men’s singles matches ended with upsets. The first was minor, as No. 9 Richard Gasquet defeated No. 5 Kei Nishikori in four sets, 6-4, 6-2, 4-6, 6-2. The second was much bigger though -- unseeded Albert Ramos-Vinolas took down No. 8 Milos Raonic in straight sets, 6-2, 6-4, 6-4.

Radwanska and Halep will finish their matches on Monday, where both Williams sisters will also play their Round of 16 matchups. Below are the results from the singles competition on Sunday.
