The French Open experienced its first completely postponed day in 16 years on Monday, when heavy rain washed out every match on the schedule. That included two women’s Round of 16 matches featuring No. 2 seed Agnieszka Radwanska and No. 6 seed Simona Halep, which had themselves been delayed from Sunday.
French Open 2016: Match times and TV schedule for Tuesday at Roland Garros
After a rain delay wiped out all of the play on Monday, we’ll hopefully get the conclusion of the Round of 16 and the beginning of the quarterfinals at the French Open on Tuesday.

Now the two will try to punch their tickets into the quarterfinals on Tuesday, provided the weather clears up. Rain is expected to continue throughout the week and there are no roofed courts at Roland Garros, the only Grand Slam at which this is the case. Radwanska leads unseeded Tsvetana Pironkova, 6-2, 3-0, and Halep leads No. 21 Samantha Stosur in the first set, 5-3.
They’ll be playing alongside top seed Serena Williams and her sister, Venus Williams. Serena will be taking on No. 18 Elina Svitolina as she looks to seal her 22nd Grand Slam title, which would tie Steffi Graf for the record. Venus will be taking on No. 8 seed Timea Bacsinszky.
On the men’s side, a similar group of superstars will be in action. No. 1 seed Novak Djokovic is set to take on No. 14 Roberto Bautista Agut. Djokovic is still searching for an elusive first title at Roland Garros after falling in the finals to Stan Wawrinka last year. Wawrinka will be in action against unseeded Albert Ramos-Vinolas on Tuesday.
Andy Murray, the No. 2 seed, played a couple five-set matches in the first two rounds and he’ll likely be happy to have the extra day of rest. When he gets on the court he’ll be taking on Richard Gasquet, the No. 9 seed who eliminated No. 5 Kei Nishikori in his last match.
Television coverage of the day begins at 5 a.m. ET on the Tennis Channel. Their coverage will run through 3 p.m. NBC will pick up coverage on their flagship network at 11 a.m. and will run concurrently with Tennis Channel, with the latter presumably covering doubles matchups. Online streaming is available at NBC Sports Live Extra and the Tennis Channel.
