Andy Murray vs. Kei Nishikori, 2016 Olympic tennis: Time, TV schedule and live stream for men’s semifinal

Murray and Nishikori will battle for the guarantee at silver and a chance at Olympic gold on Saturday.

Robert Deutsch-USA TODAY Sports

When Andy Murray won the gold medal in the men’s singles bracket at the 2012 London Olympics, he said it was a highlight for his career. It was a huge deal for Murray, who at that point was still searching for his first Grand Slam win. Fast forward to the 2016 Rio Olympics, and Murray is on the cusp of winning another medal.

Their semifinal matchup is set to be the first played on Centre Court, beginning at 11 a.m. Bravo will televise the match, with a live stream available via NBC Sports. The link and other information is below.

Murray, the second seed, will face off against Kei Nishikori, the fourth seed, in a semifinals matchup on Saturday. Murray, fortunately, will not have Novak Djokovic to look forward to in the final if he makes it that far, as Djokovic, the top seed and biggest test for Murray in singles competition, was eliminated in the first round.

He does have to watch out for Juan Martin Del Potro, the man who eliminated Djokovic, as he is playing in the other semifinal against Rafael Nadal, the third seed in the tournament.

But Murray can’t overlook Nishikori, a player who has been coming into his own recently. Nishikori hasn’t established himself as on the same tier as Djokovic, Murray, Nadal or Roger Federer, but he’s a legitimate contender for hardware at this stage.

But it’s Murray who has dominated the head-to-head between the two. Muray has six wins while losing to Nishikori just once. That loss occurred back at the ATP World Tour Finals in 2014. Since then, Murray has won three matches between the two, including earlier in 2016
