Wimbledon draw 2017 announced: Roger Federer in same half as Novak Djokovic, Milos Raonic
Roger Federer looks in fine form heading into Wimbledon 2017. We’ve got the full draw from Friday.

Andy Murray was drawn into the top half, the same half as Rafael Nadal and Stan Wawrinka.
Federer isn’t the top seed, but after he skipped the clay court season to keep himself fresh and in good condition for the grass court season, he’s looking great. Federer is a legend at this point, but the years are piling on, and he didn’t have much of a shot to unseat Nadal on the clay of Roland Garros.
So he didn’t even try. Instead, he took some time off, and he looked incredible on the grass of the recent Halle Open, which Federer just won in preparation for Wimbledon’s grass courts, on which Federer has hoisted the trophy seven times.
Federer will start his Wimbledon bid against Alexandr Dolgopolov. Murray will face a qualifier.
The top seed is Murray, who is the defending champion but who has struggled big time in recent weeks. He looked bad on the grass at the Queen’s tournament, and truthfully, the same can be said for many of the elite men. Wawrinka, Raonic and Nick Kyrgios all lost in the first round of Queens.
Nadal has been limited with injuries since winning the French Open. Djokovic has talked recently about taking a break after his big slump nearly a year ago at this point. The men’s field may not be wide open necessarily, but it’s certainly an interesting one going into Wimbledon.
On the women’s side, Angelique Kerber is the top seed and she will face a qualifier in the first round.
Kerber lost in the opening round at the French Open, the first women’s top seed to fall in the opening round at Roland Garros in the Open Era. The favorite was Petra Kvitova, but she pulled out of a tournament in Eastbourne and her health will be a concern.
Kvitova faces world No. 52 player Johanna Larsson in the first round. She could wind up seeing Johanna Konta, the sixth seed, as early as the fourth round and then could take on Simona Halep in the quarterfinals.
All eyes will be on the young Jelena Ostapenko, who won the French Open as an unseeded player. Serena Williams is not back in action after her pregnancy, so the women’s field is also fairly packed.
