The 2017 US Open will come to an end on Sunday with the men’s singles final between Rafael Nadal and Kevin Anderson. The women’s final was decided on Saturday, with unseeded American Sloane Stephens besting fellow American and 15th seed Madison Keys in straight sets, 6-3, 6-0.

Nadal and Anderson will close out the year’s final Grand Slam with a singles finals match on Sunday. We have all you need to know.

Nadal, the top seed, is favored against Anderson, the 28th seed, though Sunday’s match should be a good one. The action begins at 4 p.m. on ESPN, and will also be live streamed online at WatchESPN and the ESPN App.
Anderson, 31, is playing in his first ever Grand Slam final, with his best showing at the other three majors being fourth-round appearances. He has three career titles to his name, but no majors, and has a career high ranking of No. 10 in the world, from back in 2015.
Nadal, 31, has obviously found much more success over the course of his career. He’s won the US Open twice, the last being in 2013, and also took the French Open earlier this year. Injuries have derailed his career at various points over the years, but he’s been in fine form at this year’s US Open.
He was expecting to face Roger Federer in the semifinals due to them both being drawn in the top half of the bracket, coupled with Federer’s two Grand Slam wins in 2017. But Federer, the third seed, fell to Juan Martin del Potro in the quarterfinals. Nadal made it past del Potro to punch his ticket to the final.
Anderson bested American and 17th seed Sam Querrey in his quarterfinal match, and then took down No. 12 Pablo Carreno Busta in the semifinals to reach the final on Sunday. Anderson benefited from a bottom half of the bracket that was fairly absent of top talent thanks to a rash of injuries and early exits from other big names.
Nadal and Anderson have played each other four times in the past, dating back to the 2010 Canadian Masters, when Nadal beat him in straight sets. They then played at the Austalian Open, Paris Masters and Barcelona, all wins for Nadal. Three of their four matches have been played on the hard surface, so Nadal should have plenty of confidence going into Sunday’s final.
