Rafael Nadal came out on the losing end of his doubles match, but Team Europe leads Team World 3-1 after the first day of the Laver Cup. The team of Nick Kyrgios and Jack Sock prevailed over Nadal and Tomas Berydch on Day 1, but Europe came out on top in the other matches on the day.

Play will continue on Saturday from the O2 Arena in Prague, beginning at 7 a.m. ET and broadcast in the United States by the Tennis Channel. That means online streaming will be available via Tennis Channel Everywhere.

The Laver Cup is a new tournament that will be held annually featuring a Team Europe vs. Team World format. Matches on Friday are worth one point, matches on Saturday are worth two points and matches on Sunday, the final day, are worth three points.

Day 1 saw Cilic beat Tiafoe, Thiem beat Isner and Zverev beat Shapovalov in singles play. Isner is the only one of those three who forced a third set.
