US Open 2017: Madison Keys to face Sloane Stephens in final after beating CoCo Vandeweghe
Madison Keys made short work of CoCo Vandeweghe in the US Open semifinals on Thursday.

Keys, the 15th seed, had few issues with Vandeweghe, a fellow American woman — all four semifinalists were American women, a first in a Grand Slam since 1985 — and has a shot at her first ever Grand Slam title.
Sloane Stephens will be her opponent, after she bested No. 9 seed Venus Williams in a tough three-set match, 6-1, 0-6, 7-5. Stephens is unseeded at the US Open despite her career-high ranking of 11th in the world due to foot surgery keeping her out of tournaments earlier in the year.
She and Williams combined for an incredible third set, and Stephens will be hard to overcome in the final. Said final will take place on Saturday, following the men’s semifinals on Friday and preceding the men’s final on Sunday.
Stephens and Keys have faced each other only once: on the hard surface at the Miami Masters in 2015. That match was won by Stephens in straight sets, 6-4, 6-2. This will be the first time either player has played in a Grand Slam final, with Keys previously reaching the Australian Open semifinals in 2015 and Stephens doing the same in 2013.
Rafael Nadal, the top seed, will take on Juan Martin del Potro in one of the men’s semifinals. The other will see Pablo Carreno Busta take on Kevin Anderson.
