The women’s final of the 2018 Australian Open will take place in the early morning hours on Saturday, at least if you’re watching in the United States. The final, between Simona Halep and Caroline Wozniacki, will be at a normal time in Melbourne, but will begin at 3:30 a.m. ET on ESPN. Live streaming can be found via WatchESPN.

Friday night will see the boys and girls finals, and following the women’s final will be the men’s doubles final. But the main event is definitely the women’s final.

Neither Wozniacki nor Halep have won a Grand Slam title before. Halep, the top seed, is making her first final appearance in Melbourne. She has previously been to the finals of the French Open, in 2014 and 2017. At the other two slams, her best has been appearances in the semifinals.

Wozniacki, the second seed, is making her first finals appearance in Melbourne, and previously made it to the finals of the US Open twice, in 2009 and 2014. She’s been to the quarterfinals of the French Open twice and has never made it past the Round of 16 at Wimbledon. Like Halep, Wozniacki has also previously been a world No. 1.

Halep’s quarterfinals and semifinals opponents were Karolina Pliskova, the sixth seed, and Angelique Kerber, the No. 21 seed. Wozniacki bested Carla Suarez Navarro and Elise Mertens.

Wozniacki and Halep have faced each other six times over the years, with Wozniacki holding a 4-2 edge in the head-to-head matchup. They played twice in 2017, with Wozniacki winning both of those matches. Halep hasn’t beaten her since 2015.
