Men’s second seed, Alexander Zverev, will face the unseeded-but-dangerous Karen Khachanov in Round of 16 action on Sunday. Dominic Thiem, the seventh seed and the only other player really talked about as having a shot at besting Rafael Nadal on clay, next to Zverev, will be taking on No. 19 Kei Nishikori.

The 20th-seeded Novak Djokovic has looked good thus far at the French Open, and on Sunday he’s set to face the always-tough Fernando Verdasco, the 30th seed for the men’s singles bracket. Verdasco is coming off a straight-sets victory over fourth seed Grigor Dimitrov, while Djokovic needed four sets to down the 13th-seeded Roberto Bautista Agut.

Mihaela Muzarnescu, the No. 31 seed, took down the fourth-seeded Elina Svitolina in the third round. Sivtolina was one of the favorites, but now it’s Buzarnescu through to the Round of 16 against the 13th-seeded American, Madison Keys.

Women’s second seed, Caroline Wozniacki, may be considered the favorite for that singles bracket now that Svitolina is out. Wozniacki will have her Round of 16 match against the 14th-seeded Daria Kasatkina on Sunday.

Sloane Stephens, another American and the 10th seed, will face Anett Kontaveit, the 25th seed, on Sunday. Kontaveit is coming off a win over eighth seed Petra Kvitova.
