Angelique Kerber beat Serena Williams, 6-3 6-3, to win the women’s singles final at Wimbledon on Saturday. Kerber was seeded No. 11 while Williams was at No. 25, but taking down a 23-time Grand Slam singles winner and seven-time Wimbledon champion is an incredible feat.

Williams dedicated her play to ‘all the moms out there.’

Kerber dropped to the floor in shock after Williams’ final shot hit net.
For Williams, even a loss meant a whole lot. This was her first return to a Grand Slam singles final since giving birth to her first child in September, and she was pleased with her performance.
“To all the moms out there, I was playing for you today, and I tried,” Williams said after the match, holding back tears.
“It’s obviously disappointing, but I can’t be disappointed. I have so much to look forward to, I’m literally just getting started.”
Williams has proven she’s back just 10 months after having a child.
