Angel Reese has had herself a week. On Monday night she lit up the red carpet at the Met Gala, wearing a couture dress that was utterly perfect. Then it was right back to the grind, as she joined the Chicago Sky in preseason and didn’t look like she missed a beat.

Reese isn’t getting near the same attention as Caitlin Clark this preseason, but the college foes are both balling out. Angel is playing limited minutes this preseason as she’s eased into the rotation — but in two games she’s averaging 13 points and 7 rebounds, while showing her characteristic toughness down low.
This is a perfect example of the transformation the WNBA is seeing right now. Reese is a legitimate red carpet star in her very first season, which we just wouldn’t have seen in years’ past.
