Former South Carolina star officially signs with Indiana Fever

Bree Hall has officially signed a rookie-scale contract with the Indiana Fever, just a few weeks after being selected 20th overall in the 2025 WNBA Draft.

The former Gamecock guard averaged 5.8 points and 2.3 rebounds per game in her four-year career at the University of South Carolina. She shot 38.3% from three in her senior season and has hit numerous clutch three-pointers throughout her career, including hitting the game-sealing three in the 2023 Elite 8 against Maryland.

In addition to being a clutch shotmaker, Hall is also an elite defender.

“In my 25 years of coaching, she’s on my all-time defensive team,” said South Carolina coach Dawn Staley.

Fever head coach Stephanie White made clear that defense is a priority for the organization.

“I think the most important thing for us is defensive versatility,” White said after the draft. “Now we know we have a lot of weapons on the offensive end of the floor, but on those nights when we’re not making shots, or when things are a little bit more difficult, we’ve got to be able to get stops, and we’ve got to get better in that area, no doubt about it.”

In total, three South Carolina players were selected in the 2025 Draft — Te-Hina Paopao was selected 18th overall by the Atlanta Dream, Hall 20th overall by the Hall, and Sania Feagin 21st overall by the Los Angeles Sparks.

The Fever currently have the following 15 players on their 2025 training camp roster:

12 players will make the final roster, with Alleyne, Ejim, Brown, Timpson, and Hall all potentially battling for those spots. Hall will reunite with former Gamecock teammate Aliyah Boston when camp tips off.
