The Dallas Wings rookie isn’t just impressing from a “for a rookie” standpoint, but also achieving feats league-wide that display her advanced basketball ability for any age.
Paige Bueckers holds an impressive streak in rookie campaign
The Rookie of the Year frontrunner held onto her most consistent streak as the Dallas Wings achieved a wire-to-wire win over the New York Liberty on Monday night.

This week, the Wings announced that Bueckers is the only player league-wide to be in the top-10 rankings for points per game, assists per game, and steals per game so far this season. She is averaging 18.2 points (8th league-wide), 5.5 assists (8th league-wide), and 1.9 steals (3rd league-wide) per game in 2025.
A few months ago, Bueckers led the league in field goals made and field goals attempted from 10-15 feet (total) this season in the WNBA. While she has dropped into the 99th percentile for field goals attempted from the midrange (10-15 feet), she still leads the league in shots made from that distance (41).
Now, Bueckers is being noticed for another achievement in her rookie season: In the 21 games Bueckers has played this season against the best competition in the world, she has yet to score less than 10 points in a single game. The last time she scored in single digits was during her senior year of college.
Her career-high is 35 points against the Phoenix Mercury in June, in a game the Wings ended up losing. Yet, despite their losing record, the Wings have shown significant improvement in on-court chemistry and ability to contend in games.
While the Wings currently sit in 11th place league-wide with a record of 8-19, they most recently won an impressive game over the defending champs. In Monday’s contest, Dallas led wire-to-wire, even holding a 30-ish point lead throughout the middle of the game. Their rawness showed in the fourth quarter, when the Liberty took advantage of a Wings’ scoring drought and went on a 17-0 run, yet Dallas was still able to come out on top. That was due to the poise of the rookie Bueckers, who managed to draw a late foul and bury both free throws to keep the Liberty from catching up in the final seconds.
In the 92-82 victory, Bueckers scored 20 points to go with 6 rebounds, 4 assists, 3 steals, all while shooting 58.3% from the field and only committing 1 turnover.
Bueckers currently leads all WNBA rookies in game-by-game points (18.2), minutes (34.4), field goals made (6.8), and assists (5.5). After winning Rookie of the Month in June, she is the favorite to win again for July as her incredibly promising first season continues.
