The 2014 installment of WWE’s annual Extreme Rules event takes place on Sunday night, with the main show beginning at 8 p.m. ET. If you subscribe to the WWE Network (and you really should if you have even a casual interest in professional wrestling), you get Extreme Rules live, for free, plus a free pre-show match that begins at 7:30 p.m. ET.
How to watch WWE Extreme Rules 2014
Here’s how you can watch Sunday’s WWE pay-per-view, or “Special Event,” if you prefer. Basically, you should subscribe to the WWE Network if you haven’t already.

The "Special Event" will set you back $44.99 for standard definition or $54.99 for HD if you order on traditional pay-per-view. WWE may begin moving away from the term "pay-per-view," as cable providers are beginning to drop the PPVs after the launch of the WWE Network. Dish Network, in particular, was pretty steamed about WWE Network carrying PPVs gratis on its all-inclusive network and dropped all WWE events after WrestleMania this year. Many large providers, like Time Warner Cable and Charter, will still carry the PPV, however. Click here for a list of providers.
If you sign up for the WWE Network, however, it will only cost you $9.99 per month, plus you get every WWE, WCW and ECW PPV ever made, plus all future PPVs included and streaming live. It’s a good deal, in case we haven’t mentioned that before. After the three-hour event, there will also be a one-hour “Post-Show” on the WWE Network with reactions, interviews and whatever else they feel like throwing at you.
