SummerSlam 2015 results: Becky Lynch pins Brie Bella to win Divas tag team elimination match

That was underwhelming, but Becky Lynch is cool!

For yet another major event, the WWE Divas Championship wasn’t on the line. Instead, the top women on the roster competed in a tag team elimination match, where Becky Lynch got the win for Team PCB.

To shake up the Divas division, Stephanie McMahon called up three of the best performers in NXT to the main roster -- Lynch, Charlotte and Sasha Banks. They joined factions who have been feuding ever since. Divas champions Nikki Bella, her sister Brie and Alicia Fox on Team Bella; Paige, Lynch and Charlotte on Team PCB; Banks, Naomi and Tamina on Team B.A.D.

Their feud set up this triple threat nine-woman tag team match, where two competitors were in the ring at one time, and getting pinned or submitted meant your team was eliminated.

A series of outside-the-ring-jumping-into-a-pile-of-bodies spots led to Brie pinning Tamina, eliminating Team B.A.D. first. Team Bella worked on Paige in the corner for a while, but PCB mounted a comeback when the Englishwoman managed to tag in Charlotte. She delivered a few chops and a spear to Alicia Fox before Brie and Lynch got tagged in. Brie went for a big dropkick off the top rope, but Becky moved out of the way, leaving Brie to faceplant. Lynch took advantage, hitting a pumphandle suplex to get the pin.

After Saturday night’s classic between Sasha Banks and Bayley at NXT TakeOver: Brooklyn, this was a massive letdown and a possible setback for WWE’s self-branded “Divas Revolution.” Lynch’s couple moves to finish the match were great, but the build to them was awful.
