Kevin Owens might have lost his most recent NXT and United States Championship matches, but he’s still going strong in WWE. He beat Cesaro in their match at SummerSlam.
SummerSlam 2015 results: Kevin Owens bounces back, beats Cesaro
Well, Kevin Owens certainly needed that.

Owens and Cesaro have been running into each other for a couple of months now. Both fought with John Cena for the United States Championship while preventing each other from winning the title off Cena. They also lost a No. 1 contender’s match for the WWE World Heavyweight Championship, where both were defeated by Randy Orton. They’ve been going at each other since, with Owens annoyed that Cesaro thinks he’s the better wrestler because he’s in better shape.
On Saturday, Owens lost a ladder match to Finn Balor for the NXT Championship, in which he took a number of hard falls. Commentary made serious note of that throughout this match, though Owens didn’t look like he was too affected physically.
Cesaro and Owens proceeded to beat the living crap out of each other, with Cesaro getting in most of the offense. He hit a half-dozen European uppercuts and an absurd drop kick where he managed to reach Owens’ face even though he was sitting on the top turnbuckle.
But Owens managed to turn the tables, knocking Cesaro off the top rope so he took a big shot to the groin. Owens suplexed the Swiss Superman off the top rope, hit a Pop-Up Powerbomb and got the pin for a surprisingly quick and straightforward victory.
