Shane McMahon has a history of performing high-risk maneuvers in matches

Shane-O-Mac isn’t a full-time wrestler. But when he enters the squared circle, he always puts his body on the line for fans.

If you watched WWE’s Hell in a Cell pay-per-view last week, you saw Shane McMahon take a leap of faith off the top of the cell — in an attempt to land on Kevin Owens on the table below.

Unfortunately for Shane-O-Mac, Sami Zayn moved Owens out of the way, and McMahon fell through the table. McMahon has an extensive track record of performing high-risk maneuvers throughout his career. However, Justin Barrasso of Sports Illustrated said the following:

“After WrestleMania 32, the audience has been taught to expect a similar death-defying stunt from McMahon every time he enters the ring.”

McMahon collided with The Undertaker inside the Hell in a Cell at WrestleMania 32. McMahon leaped off the top of the cage to land on The Undertaker, who was laid out on the table. But the Undertaker moved out the way, and Shane landed through the table.

Avid wrestling fans, you know that McMahon isn’t new to taking a leap of faith every time he steps in the ring. You know that WrestleMania 32 didn’t teach you anything about Shane that you already didn’t know. But for those of you who are not familiar with Shane’s death-defying moves over the years, allow me to take you down memory lane.

Shane McMahon vs. Steve Blackman at SummerSlam: Shane falls off the Titantron

This was probably the first of Shane’s high-profile falls, but it was far from his last. Having won the Hardcore Championship with the help of Edge & Christian, Shane met Blackman in a one-on-one rematch for the title. Late in the match, he and Blackman fight up the scaffolding on the side of the Titantron, and after a couple of kendo stick shots, Shane went falling to his doom.

This was shocking at the time and still holds up as one of Shane’s most memorable stunts, even if you can obviously see the crash pad he lands on. Blackman eventually won the match and the title.

Shane McMahon vs. Big Show at Backlash 2001: Last Man Standing Match

I remember this match like it was yesterday. It was your proverbial David-vs-Goliath bout. The smaller McMahon had to figure out a way to incapacitate the Big Show for a 10-second count to win the match.

Shane fought hard and kept attacking the Big Show with relentless force, but the 7-footer was too much for McMahon. Later in the match, Test got involved to help Shane. Toward the end of the bout, Test incapacitated the Big Show near the entrance, and Shane climbed up the Titantron to deliver this memorable leap. Shane-O-Mac won the match.

Shane goes coast-to-coast on Vince McMahon at WrestleMania 17

Shane-O-Mac has so many captivating moves in his arsenal, but his coast-to-coast maneuver is near the top of the list. During a Street Fight against his father and owner of the WWE, Vince McMahon, at WrestleMania 17, Shane pulled out all the stops to win.

If you ever watched wrestling during the Attitude Era, you know that Vince and Shane had plenty of battles in the ring. This was a solid match, but Shane-O-Mac’s coast-to-coast was simply breathtaking. Shane also won the match because of that maneuver.

A leap of faith against Kane at Unforgiven 2003

Once again, Shane found himself in a Last Man Standing match. But this time, however, he went head-to-head with Kane. As you can see, this was around the time The Big Red Machine took off his mask to unveil his face, which resulted in a heel turn for him.

Kane went on a path of destruction, created havoc, and even tombstoned Shane’s mother, Linda, during Raw. Shane-O-Mac took the fight to Kane at Unforgiven. Indeed, Kane won the match, but Shane showcased his grit and toughness. Yes, he performed another death-defying leap, but Kane moved out the way in time.

Never underestimate Shane-O-Mac in matches. He’ll surprise each time you do. Shane is more than just “Vince’s son.” He’s a fearless competitor who knows how to put on eye-popping performances. Shane-O-Mac isn’t afraid to put his body on the line for the fans, and you have to appreciate his courage to perform death-defying stunts.
