WWE superstar Kane came one step closer to becoming the mayor of Knox County, Tennessee on Tuesday when Glenn Jacobs won the GOP nomination in the local primary.
WWE’s Kane claims to have won the GOP nomination for mayor in Tennessee
The race is extremely close.

Jacobs is claiming the victory, but election officials are saying there are still 43 provisional ballots to be counted on Thursday. It’s unclear whether those outstanding ballots will be enough to change the result, which has Jacobs leading by a mere 17 votes, in a nail-biting finishing.
Jacobs, best known as Kane, made his WWE debut in 1992 and is still a mainstay on the roster. His biggest push came in the late 1990s, when Kane was revealed to be the brother of The Undertaker, setting up a long-standing rivalry, and eventual reunion with the pair forming one of WWE’s most-fearsome tag teams, “The Brothers of Destruction.”
While on the campaign trail, Jacobs has run on a standard conservative platform, while also posting lots of photos of himself standing alone outside public buildings.
If the result holds, Jacobs will run for mayor in the general election in October.
