‘Miz and Mrs.’ Hitz and Misses: A bus full of baby puke and dog poop

Miz and Maryse’s move to Austin doesn’t go as smoothly as planned.

Here we are, already at the penultimate episode of the first season of Miz and Mrs. Last week, Monroe was born so Miz and Maryse are officially in parent mode. This week, I might have carpal tunnel and can’t feel most of the fingers on one hand so this recap is going to be a little shorter than normal!

But we still got to all of the big moments and shenanigans from two of our favorite wrestlers. Here are your hits and misses from Episode 5!

  • The bus driver asking Miz and Maryse to walk half a mile to the bus. Sure he can’t get to the house but maybe “walk” is not the best problem solving

Hit: “Cheap Mike is no longer”

Cheap Miz is dead, long live Spendy MIz. Apparently all it took for Miz to be okay with spending a ton of money was to have a kid. He went ahead and rented the tour bus for the move as well as a moving company (obviously) and organizers (less obvious and more impressive for him). Maryse still helping to pack despite having all the help Miz finally paid for was a nice touch.

Hit: This shot

This is art, people. Miz looks even taller than 6’1” (no judging if he asked for this angle himself) and we get to appreciate the WrestleMania set one more time in all it’s sparkly glory.

Miss: Maryse vs. volume

Maryse has lived in the same house for seven years and doesn’t know how to use the volume on the TV? Girl. Google it! Miz is about to go wrestle against two other very strong dudes and has to focus. I’ll chalk this up to newborn-in-the-house brain and give Miz props for even answering the call when he was so close to match time and all suited up.

Miss: Miz blaming Maryse’s pre-match call

Mike then blaming that for his loss is off the mark on multiple levels. If he was going to lost the match he was going to lose the match and I’ll just leave that at that. But maybe make sure Maryse has written instructions for the new remote in Austin before any other big matches, eh?

Hit: Marjo in a WrestleMania shirt

Breathtaking.

Hit: Miz and Maryse getting emotional leaving Chateau Marmiz

Their farewell to their home of seven years was really sweet and made even better by Maryse then saying that she was taking a picture for her Instagram story. That’s marriage right there.

Hit: The prank war

You go on a 30-plus hour road trip, there are going to be pranks. The ol’ “pretend to leave someone behind at a rest stop by parking out of sight” is a classic. That Miz was only punished for it by Marjo being mildly annoyed and then eating the pancake he was looking forward to on the bus.

Miss: The bus then ACTUALLY leaving Marjo behind

Guys. If you think someone’s in the bathroom check that they’re in the bathroom. Marjo’s anger was righteous, rightfully, but Miz’s reaction being “I’ve been in the ring with the undertaker and i’ve never been so scared in my life” was hilarious. But probably correct. This is still a miss because do not leave your mother in law behind on a 2,000 mile road trip but at least it gave us that line.

Plus, Marjo’s fury meant her dressing Miz down like a mother to her teenage son. This might be our most mixed hit/miss of the season.

Miss: How badly that bus must have smelt

Miz putting the diapers in the freezer so they didn’t smell up the whole bus was a good idea in theory, but that things reached that point — and the number of times everyone commented on the smell in the span of one 30 minute episode — painted a mental picture of the stench that was truly disturbing.

Multiple dogs, cats, and a newborn? Plus four people? Nooooo thank you. Those details can stay on the bus.
