Sports Science, the Fox Sports TV show that is Mythbusters done by jocks, does have some legitimately fascinating episodes. The Rampage Jackson episode is a good example of the better work they do. Did you know that Jackson punches with 1800 pounds of force? And that he’s waiting outside your door to beat the hell out of you because you are a punk, and punks get beat down by Rampage Jackson? Well, you know it now. And don’t try to hide by going out another door. Rampage is waiting outside all of them at once.
Anyway, that episode involved science. This one ... well, it’s just a man being hit in the balls with expensive equipment.
Don’t Ask! It’s Science
Their big discovery? Your heart rate goes up when you’re about to be hit in the testicles. Now if you’ll excuse me, I have several grant applications for my research project “Does Getting Hit in the Teeth With a Flaming Hockey Puck Hurt” coming due, and have deadlines to make.↵
