Nolan In the News? Must Be Time to Post This Video

By Chris Mottram
I realize it’s extremely difficult to get any baseball news that doesn’t involve HGH and/or Congress and/or Roger Clemens, but you may have heard that the Rangers hired Nolan Ryan as their team president.
Really, I have no thoughts on the hiring because I know nothing about the Rangers, other than their clubhouse in the ‘90s seems to have been a breading ground for much of the steroids B.S. we’re dealing with now.
See, I’m excited about this news for one reason only: It allows me to post video of arguably the best baseball brawl of the ‘90s:

As you may recall, this fight occurred during the end of Ryan’s final season in 1993. Ryan was 46, Ventura was 26. Also making it awesome is the cameo by Bo Jackson around the two-minute mark when the rumble got started up again, followed by Mickey Hatcher’s incredible mullet and bloody eye socket.
For real insights on the hiring, check out Lone Star Ball. They actually know what they’re talking about.↵
