February, to correct T.S. Eliot, happens to be the cruellest month. Football fans of all stripes find their once-generous televisions bereft of games; baseball fans shake and cling to their stats-sheets waiting for spring ball to begin. Even college basketball fans aren’t in full swing yet, waiting for March Madness; ditto for NBAers and the playoffs.
It’s a dank, sad time in the sports world. Therefore, I offer three words of hope to you in your hour of need:
Luge, baby. Luge!
February may be the pits for you, mainstream sports fan, but it’s Mardi Gras for lugers, who have the 23rd FIL Junior World Championships in Lake Placid, 6th FIL Junior World Championships in Latsch, Italy, and the 7th Viessmann World Cup in Sigulda, Latvia to choose from.
Why should you watch luge? Crashes, captain. The pure joy of watching someone bust their a, not yours, on television.
Fear Not, Fan: It’s Luge Season
Glad we could help you out in your time of need. All the people in that video were fine except for the ones who died. (We keed, we keed!)↵
