Larry King Loves Him Some Wrestlemania

By Dave “Large” Larzelere
Last night, Larry King hosted Vince McMahon and many of the wrestlers who will feature in this Sunday’s Wrestlemania extravaganza, including Triple H, Chris Jericho, John Cena (via satellite) and, of course, the David v/ Goliath duo of Floyd Money Mayweather and The Big Show.

Floyd was his usual slutlicious self, at one point saying that he’s always up for the biggest challenges and “nothing’s bigger than the WWE†while Chairman Vince nodded knowingly in the corner. Later on, Floyd dropped hints to the effect that he might make a career of the WWE. “It’s possible I could be here to stay,†he said. “I may not go back to boxing. It all depends.†On what exactly it depends he did not comment.
Overall, the whole segment was a little more of a lovefest than I would have hoped, Floyd sitting there in his pimp suit grinning like the cat who swallowed the twenty million dollar canary and Big Show taking every opportunity he could to pronounce Lil Floyd the greatest fighter on the planet. Initially, I was behind Money May’s whole WWE gambit, but it’s fallen a little flat in my opinion. After taking us all on a detour into this surprisingly boring cartoon purview of ten-year-old boys, I hope he rewards us in the next year or so with a fight actually worth watching (in other words, against someone other than his buddy, Money De La Hoya). Although the way he’s going, it seems like an appearance on American Idol is more likely. For myself, if he’s actually not going to box anymore, I’m hoping that he’ll perform some valuable public service, like jumping a rocket-powered motorcycle over Snake River Canyon. ↵
