To the chagrin of Ray Rice owners everywhere Willis McGahee has reincarnated himself as a touchdown vulture; McGahee is essentially Lendale White circa 2008. Through the first four games McGahee had seven touchdowns, and while being a clear-cut second option in the Ravens’ backfield, he was receiving a healthy split of carries.
Ray Rice Owners Rejoice
↵That changed last week. Against the Bengals McGahee only had two touches. And this might be more than a one-week aberration. Baltimore OC Cam Cameron told reporters that it’s hard to get McGahee and Le’Ron McClain involved when Rice is playing at such a high level. If Rice continues to receive anywhere close to the workload he got last week, this could vault him into RB1 status, assuming the Ravens feed him the ball at the goal line. Even if McGahee continues to dominate the red zone work, Rice should remain a solid RB2 option, as he’s second in the league in total yards from scrimmage, and should continue to rack up the yards in between the 20s.
