Bob Sanders Out For Year With Torn Biceps
So much for an “elbow injury”; Adam Schefter reports that Bob Sanders will miss the rest of the season due to a torn biceps.
Sanders was the 2007 Defensive Player of the Year before missing most of last year with an assortment of injuries. He missed the first five weeks of the 2009 season as he recovered from offseason knee surgery, before returning and promptly injuring his biceps.

The Indianapolis Star reports that oft-injured Colts safety Bob Sanders will have surgery on his injured elbow, and will be out for an as of yet undetermined period.
Sanders injured his elbow during last week’s win over the Niners, and sought Dr. James Andrews’ opinion yesterday. Sanders’ loss will be a blow to a defense reeling with injuries: both starting cornerbacks, as well as starting linebacker Tyjuan Hagler will be out for this weekend’s game against the Texans (with Marlin Jackson and Hagler out for the year).

More bad news for the seemingly perpetually injured Bob Sanders. After injuring his elbow last week, the Colts safety sat out practice on Thursday and met with Dr. James Andrews, according to team reports. It’s certainly a worrying sign that Sanders felt it was necessary to consult with Dr. Andrews, who is the preeminent sports injury doctor in the country, and who Sanders has worked with before.
Sanders is listed as questionable for Week 9 on the team’s injury report, although it seems unlikely that he will play given this latest information.

Bob Sanders Not Injured, Just Doing ‘Post-Performance Training’
According to the Indy Star, Bob Sanders didn’t leave the game early on Sunday because of injury, but because he was choosing to shut it down for the day and ice his legs.
