The AP reports that the sale of the Chicago Cubs to the Ricketts family has been finalized after the team was on the market for two and a half years.

The Ricketts family, who made their fortune with the online brokerage TD Ameritrade, bought a 95% interest in the team, along with Wrigley Field and a 25% interest in Comcast Sportsnet for $845 million dollars. This figure breaks the record $660 million sale of the Red Sox in 2002.
