With the news that former Longhorn star Vince Young will be back on the field for the winless Titans this week comes the inevitable question: what’s his fantasy value? ESPN’s Eric Karabell breaks it down:
VY: Bye Week Savior?
↵↵I think the Titans will let him run around and make plays, and while we’ll see turnovers, at least the Titans should find the end zone for the first time in eight quarters. I could see Young gaining around 40 or 50 yards on the ground, and maybe 150 yards through the air against a Jaguars defense that certainly has its own problems. Young is not a must-add for fantasy by any means, but since I see that the most-added quarterbacks over the past week include Alex Smith, Bulger and Fitzpatrick, I’d say Young is worth a look to some.
↵↵With six teams on bye, and the horrid Jacksonville passing defense up on the slate for the Titans, VY could actually be a decent option for Tom Brady owners looking for a stopgap. Just don’t expect Young to party like it’s 2005; a modest 12-15 fantasy points seems more reasonable.
