The Twins had two runners in scoring position. Then Phil Hughes came in. In relief of Sabathia, Hughes came in and struck out Orlando Cabrera to end the inning. Hughes will likely work the 8th, too, meaning the Twins are in deep trouble: Hughes-Rivera is not a duo you want to trail by four runs. This is an obvious thing to say, but that doesn’t make it any less true.
