Just as soon as the Orlando Magic got one all-star back, they suddenly lose another. One night after Rashard Lewis returned from his 10-game suspension for using PEDs, the Magic learned that Jameer Nelson will undergo arthroscopic knee surgery and will miss the next four to six weeks.
Jameer Nelson To Undergo Knee Surgery, Miss 4-6 Weeks
Orlando Magic point guard Jameer Nelson will undergo arthroscopic surgery Wednesday morning to repair a torn meniscus in his left knee.
Nelson was injured in the fourth quarter of Monday night’s game vs. Charlotte and underwent an MRI Tuesday morning.
It is estimated that Nelson will be out four-to-six weeks following the procedure.
It's definitely a blow to the Magic, who have started 8-3 despite dealing with Lewis' suspension and injuries to Vince Carter and Ryan Anderson. Last year, when Nelson got hurt, the Magic filled the void by trading for Rafer Alston. This year, it appears Jason WIlliams, who was out of the league last season, will get first crack at filling in.
