Some NHL injury news today as word comes down that the Kings and Canadiens will be without some key players for a lengthy amount of time.
Kings’ Ryan Smyth and Habs’ Brian Gionta Injured
↵First, Ryan Smyth is out with the mysterious “upper body injury”. From Terry Murray:

But you know, you take a look around the league, there’s all kinds of injuries to top players. You’ve got to deal with it. It’s part of the game.
↵↵Also, Brian Gionta is out for the Canadiens for an indefinite amount of time with a broken bone in his foot.

↵The Montreal Canadiens will be without the services of speedy forward Brian Gionta for an indefinite time, according to reports in La Presse and RDS.
↵Gionta, 30, broke a bone in his left foot early this month and did not play in the club’s two most recent games.
