We Have A Vince Young Sighting

All those years ago – well, not really – actually just a few short years ago, Vince Young seemed like he was on his way to stardom. Then everything came crashing down when he was replaced in the lineup by Kerry Collins and the Titans went on a tear. Now, with the abysmal start to the ’09 campaign, the Titans have turned back to VY once again in an attempt to see what they got before making a decision in the offseason.

Suddenly, Young is relevant again. And in deep leagues, or on fantasy rosters that are in dire need of a QB, VY might be worth a shot on the waiver wire.

Tristan Cockcroft from ESPN:

Vince Young: Yes, I actually would, at least in leagues deep enough to justify digging deep at quarterback. For a guy who hadn’t started a game since Week 1 of last season and had only 15 passing and 10 rushing attempts since that game, Young sure looked every bit as mobile as in his breakout rookie season, running 12 times for 30 yards, not getting sacked and averaging a respectable 6.9 yards per pass attempt. Sure, the Jaguars presented a light matchup for Young, but there are other useful ones for him in the weeks ahead, too (at Texans, Week 11; versus Cardinals, Week 12; versus Rams, Week 14).
