The card for UFC 109 continues to fill up as a rematch between Josh Koscheck and Paulo Thiago is being worked out for the event. MMA Fanhouse with the news:
Josh Koscheck v. Paulo Thiago Rematch At UFC 109
The UFC is targeting a welterweight rematch between Josh Koscheck and Paulo Thiago at UFC 109 on Feb. 6. FanHouse learned of the potential fight on Tuesday, but the bout has yet to be made official by the organization.
Thiago defeated Koscheck in a stunning upset at UFC 95 last February via first round TKO in the Brazilian’s Octagon debut. Since then, Thiago has gone 1-1 in the UFC, losing to Koscheck’s teammate, Jon Fitch, at UFC 100 and beating Jacob Volkmann UFC 106 in November.
With Dan Hardy set to face Georges St. Pierre for the title at 170 pounds a win by Koscheck would set him up as the next challenger to either man. Koscheck has a very vocal feud going with Dan Hardy at the moment making that fight of interest and a win over Thiago erases the recent blemish on his record and should set him up as a legitimate title contender.
