A busy college basketball action concludes with two top 25 teams facing major non-conference tests. However, a pair of matchups of 2009 bubble teams also bear watching.
Saturday Night College Hoops: No. 5 Purdue And No. 18 UNLV Face Stiff Tests
- Kansas State travels to Vegas to take on18th-ranked UNLV. The Wildcats have had a huge week, as they beat Washington State and Xavier at home, but facing Lon Kruger's Runnin' Rebels will be an entirely different task. It's worth noting that game will take place at the Orleans Arena, not the Thomas and Mack Center.
- Fifth-ranked Purdue travels to Alabama, where I think the fans may be a bit distracted tonight. If Mark Ingram should happen to win the Heisman just before tip off, Coleman Coliseum will be rocking. Not that JaJuan Johnson, E`Twaun Moore, Robbie Hummel and Chris Kramer will be phased by such things. SB Nation's Purdue blog, Hammer and Rails, has a preview of tonight's matchup posted.
- Virginia Tech travels to Penn State and Arizona visits San Diego State as four of the teams under the most discussion last March square off. A win tonight would be helpful for each, as it looks the bubble is a definite possibilty for all four programs again this season.
You can follow and discuss all four of these matchups here on SB Nation.
