The Detroit Red Wings Are Sick Of Getting Coal In Their Stockings This Season

Henrik Zetterberg has left the Red Wings game against the Tampa Bay Lightning in the first period after being hit by Tampa’s Mattias Ohlund. This will be the eighth starting player that will miss time for the Red Wings after Jonathan Ericsson left Monday night’s game with a knee injury.

↵Mlive’s Ansar Khan has this recap of the hit:

↵↵Ohlund caught Zetterberg in the head with his shoulder in the Lightning zone with 1:43 to play in the first period. Zetterberg was shaken up and, after a couple of minutes, helped off the ice by Nicklas Lidstrom and trainer Piet Van Zant.
Ohlund wasn’t penalized. But Patrick Eaves took exception to the hit and confronted Ohlund. Eaves received a roughing penalty.

↵↵What is more amazing, if the Red Wings can survive all of the injuries and still make the playoffs this season, it will show that they are probably the best organization in the NHL.
