Reasonable people can debate whether Greg Oden is injury-prone or just remarkably unlucky. His Trailblazers teammates? Just unlucky.
The Hits Keep Coming For Portland: Rudy Fernandez To Have Surgery
The Blazers have already lost small forwards Nicholas Batum and Travis Outlaw for nearly the entire season with injuries. Now, they might lose ace shooting guard Rudy Fernandez for a while, because Fernandez is apparently having surgery to fix some pain he's had in his right foot.
Portland Trail Blazers guard/forward Rudy Fernandez will undergo a procedure today to alleviate pain in his right leg, General Manager Kevin Pritchard announced Tuesday.
Fernandez, 24, will undergo a microdiscectomy to relieve pressure from a nerve root in his lower back that is causing pain in his right leg.
Fernandez timetable is still unknown, but that does not sound like your run-of-the-mill NBA procedure. We’ll keep you posted when news comes in, but for now, all I can say is that this franchise is snake-bitten. Something always prevents them from getting over the hump into championship contender status.
