Has Cleveland zeroed in on its pick?
Cleveland television station WOIO reported recently that the Browns will take either Southern California quarterback Mark Sanchez or Texas Tech wide receiver Michael Crabtree with the fifth pick overall.
If the pick were Sanchez, that would probably mean the Browns would trade Brady Quinn and let Sanchez play for a year behind Derek Anderson.
If the team went with Crabtree, that proabably means Braylon Edwards will be traded on draft day.
Or, this all could be smokescreen. Some, including ESPN’s Todd McShay, now believe that Sanchez will be gone by the time the Browns pick. If the Browns are sending out word they really like Crabtree, they could be forcing teams like Oakland and Jacksonville to trade up to get him.
It’s all starting to get very interesting.
