This is not the weather map you hope to see on Opening Day:

All That Green? Yeah, That’s Bad for Baseball

↵↵The Rays-Red Sox game in Boston has been postponed due to rain which is supposed to continue through the night. It’ll be playing at 4:05 tomorrow. The Royals-White Sox game was moved to tomorrow as well (2:05) because of freezing conditions, heavy wind and a chance of snow. Damn you Big Red L and your web of ominous looking circles!↵
↵↵Other games that are scheduled to take place in cities located somewhere beneath that mess of green and yellow: ↵
↵↵Mets at Reds, 1:10. Conditions: A mix of rain/snow/frozen stuff and wind makes it sound absolutely miserable in Cincy. Outlook not so good. UPDATE: First pitch has been moved back to 1:40.↵
↵↵Yankees at Orioles, 4:05. Conditions: 80% chance of rain this afternoon, but may clear up enough to get the game in. ↵
↵Pirates at Cardinals, 4:15. Conditions: Extremely cold with sub-freezing wind chills. There seems to be some occasional snow showers, but nothing heavy nor is it sticking. They’ll probably play, and the fans in St. Louis will love every second of it nonetheless.
↵
↵So, maybe some of the day baseball we looked forward to -- especially Yankee fans and their first glimpse of C.C. -- might not happen. The evening games are in the south and west, so if nothing else, we still have those to fall back on. The bright side: This just means
baseball tomorrow afternoon.↵
