The Athletics Should Probably Promote This Guy

In the 35th round of this year’s draft, the Oakland A’s drafted Paul Smyth, a right-handed pitcher. Through 36.1 low-A minor-league innings, he’s posted a 0.00 ERA. along with a WHIP of 0.495. It’s an admittedly low sample size, but it’s worth noting that he’s been utilized exclusively as a reliever since joining the minors.

↵I’d like to see him step up his game, though. He could theoretically manage a negative ERA if he could knock a couple of hits himself while on the mound.
