The body count for week 1 (so far) is relatively light. Of course, this list could grow as the week progresses.
The Aftermath: Week 1 Injuries
Donovan McNabb fractured his ribs and is reportedly going to miss 2-3 weeks. Early reports say he will miss next week’s game, although Andy Reid said there’s a “chance” he could play; after that is unknown. Kevin Kolb replaced McNabb in the game but wasn’t really tested as the Eagles were in the process of routing the Panthers 38-10. The real fantasy star for the Eagles was their defense.
Colts WR Anthony Gonzalez has a strained ligament in the knee that will sideline him anywhere from 2-6 weeks. Gonzalez had been elevated to the starting lineup with Marvin Harrison released, and was the complement to Reggie Wayne.
Others:
Giants WR Hakeem Nicks is out for 2-3 weeks with a foot injury.
Bears LB Brian Urlacher has a dislocated wrist and will have surgery today. His long-term prognosis is unknown but if he misses time, that hurts the Bears defense as a fantasy play.
