Brewers’ Yovani Gallardo Could Be Shut Down for Season

The Milwaukee Brewers don't want to risk anything now that they're out of the playoff hunt, so they may shut down pitcher Yovani Gallardo for the rest of the season.

Gallardo has been solid for the Brew Crew this season, striking out 197 batters in 180.2 innings of work. His 3.84 ERA is the lowest for any Brewers starter this season.

However, Brew Crew Ball isn’t sure if Gallardo will actually end up sitting:

It doesn’t seem like Gallardo was really happy about skipping his last start, so the possibility that they would bench him for the rest of the year seems really slim. He really wants to play out the rest of the season and, with what happened last year, who can blame him?
