Former first rounder Matt Jones may find his way back into the NFL. This according to Chris Mortensen, via Twitter:
Ex-Jaguars’ Receiver Jones Gets Tennessee Tryout
↵↵Yes, Matt Jones is flying to Nashville for a Thursday workout with Titans. Bears & Cowboys monitoring.
↵↵Apparently, the former Jacksonville Jaguars’ wide receiver and Arkansas Razorbacks star quarterback has again decided that football is a more worthwhile endeavor than cocaine, which got him suspended for three games in 2008. Jones’ substance abuse ultimately led to his demise in Jacksonville.
↵The Titans lack play-making ability at the wide receiver position, so if Jones makes the team he should have an opportunity to play; but that should be seen as a long shot at this point. Still, the situation is worth monitoring because of Jones’ tremendous upside.
