I’m not one to be a prude, but I know what will often be construed as offensive or wildly and flagrantly inappropriate when I see it. Those images below? Yeah, I’d say that fits the bill.↵
Steve McNair in a Haunted House? Not So Smart
↵
↵
↵↵Those images come from WLWT in Cincinnati. They come from part of a display at a haunted house that shows off dead celebs. In addition to Steve McNair and Sahel Kazemi, you’ve also got Ted Williams in a fridge, plus Michael Jackson, Heath Ledger and Farrah Fawcett. Park spokesperson Don Helbig also said Ted Kennedy, Ed McMahon and others would be added.↵
↵↵This was not at some backyard haunted house though. This was at a major amusement park, Kings Island, just north of Cincinnati in my old stomping grounds. (I used to love the King Cobra and Vortex rollercoasters, but I don’t even know if those exist anymore.) FanHouse reached out to Kings Island for some sort of explanation. It was, well, all over the place:↵
↵↵⇥When reached by FanHouse, a spokesperson for Kings Island, Don Helbig, said the following, “There will not be a scene at our Halloween event that features Steve McNair or anyone that resembles him.”↵⇥↵⇥With video and pictures of the skeletons circulating online, Helbig at first declined to acknowledge that they had ever existed. “There was no reference to Steve McNair at all. No jersey, nothing.” Upon being informed that the pictures and video were already online, Helbig again insisted that the skeletons would not be featured on Friday when the event opens. Pressed as to when the skeletons were removed from the park, Helbig stuck to his talking points. “Our event does not open until Friday,” he said, “We meant him no disrespect.”↵⇥
↵↵↵Let this be a lesson, Halloween haunted house proprietors: There is such a thing as too soon. (Oh, and I’d double down that this won’t be the last time we’ll hear about something like this for Halloween. Bad taste certainly isn’t unique to some dolt at Kings Island.)↵
