Chad Pennington will travel to Birmingham, Alabama on Friday to undergo shoulder surgery for the third time. Dr. James Andrews, the man most commonly associated with career-threatening arm operations, will perform the surgery. He’s done the previous two operations on Chad’s arm, as well.

The surgery will repair a torn capsule in his throwing shoulder and could end Pennington’s career.
This will be his second procedure of the week — he already had stitches in his nose from a hit he took on Sunday. One of these two operations seems slightly less serious than the other. We are not doctors, however.
