Theodore Will Open the Season as the Starter

Corey Masiak of the Washington Times is reporting that the Washington Capitals and head coach Bruce Boudreau will start Jose Theodore (nee “Jose Three-or-more”) in goal tomorrow night’s home opener vs. the Bruins. In other words, despite 21 year-old Semyon Varlamov’s promising play during last season’s playoff run, the Caps will go to war—at least initially—with last season’s incumbent.

Be sure to check out Japers’ Rink for more coverage, as they’re sure to have a reaction to this soon.
