Arizona’s 51-45 overtime win against Green Bay in Sunday’s NFC Wild Card was the NFL’s highest-scoring playoff game, ever. The whole thing was a dream for those who love offensive shootouts, and a nightmare for the defensive minded (and defensive coordinators, particularly those who are employed by either Arizona or Green Bay).
Arizona And Green Bay’s WILD Wild Card, By The Numbers
- 96 points
- 1,024 yards of offense (tied for 3rd-most in playoff history)
- 59 first downs
- 778 yards passing
- 75 pass attempts (and 57 completions)
- 12 total touchdowns (9 passing, 3 rushing)
And for comparison’s sake, and because I love torturing myself, apparently, a brief look at the Ravens-Patriots game.
- 474 yards of offense
- 31 first downs
- 166 yards passing
- 52 pass attempts, just 10 of which came from Joe Flacco, the winning QB (and just 27 completions total)
See, numbers can be fun! Or if you’re a Patriots fan, sad.
