Decision On Raiders Head Coach Tom Cable May Not Come Until Next Week

Multiple media outlets have previously reported that Tom Cable is “expected” to be dismissed as the Oakland Raiders head coach. A decision isn’t expected until owner Al Davis meets with Cable to discuss his future.

As it usually is with the Raiders, no one quite knows when that meeting is supposed to take place.

According to the Associated Press, the two met on Thursday but talks did not extend into Friday, as expected.

Cable had not had a second straight day of meetings with owner Al Davis as of early Friday afternoon. A resolution to Cable’s situation is not expected until at least next week.

Al Davis generally doesn’t operate under the same time table as the rest of the NFL so it’s anyone’s guess right now as to when a decision will be made on Cable’s future. However, the general presumption is that the longer this drags on, the better it is for Cable.
