Report: Tom Brady Has Broken Ribs & Index Finger

CBS’ "NFL Today" reported earlier today that Patriots quarterback Tom Brady has been playing with three broken ribs. It was initially thought that the injury occurred in the Patriots' Week 13 loss to Miami. However, Shalise Manza-Young of the Providence Journal is reporting that Brady broke the ribs in a preseason game against Washington and re-aggravated the injury against the Jets.

Most likely, the aggravation came from the devastating hit by Redskins defensive tackle Albert Haynesworth, which many thought injured Brady's shoulder.

To make matters even worse for the Pats, Brady has been playing with a broken index finger on his throwing hand as well. Injured about a month ago, it’s reportedly bothering Tom more than the ribs.

Brady did not speak with the media on Sunday after the Patriots' loss to the Texans. And no word on whether or not Brady's playing time will be affected. Given that he's made it this far with the injuries, don't expect him to lay down now that the playoffs are starting.

Pats Pulpit will have updates as they develop.
