No. 7 Syracuse 74, Memphis 57: Orange Get Some Defense In The Second Half
January 6, 2010 – Syracuse, NY (Sports Network) – Wes Johnson scored 19 points and Syracuse’s defense clamped down in the second half, helping the seventh-ranked Orange post a 74-57 victory over Memphis at the Carrier Dome.
Kris Joseph added 15 points and nine rebounds, while Andy Rautins logged 11 points and seven assists for Syracuse (14-1), which rebounded from its first loss of the season, an 82-72 loss to Big East rival Pittsburgh on Saturday.
Roburt Sallie made five three-pointers en route to a 17-point effort for the Tigers (10-4), who had won three of four coming into the game. Wesley Witherspoon and Elliot Williams chipped in 12 and 10 points, respectively, in the loss, Memphis’ first of more than seven points this year.
